COMP 112 Introduction to Programming II
A Computer Science degree involves gaining an understanding of the ways in which computers can be used efficiently to assist other human activities. This involves both a practical and theoretical understanding of the way systems using computers are constructed. The aim of this course is to equip students with the basic practical and theoretical skills they will need to complete their degrees. The course covers basic programming concepts, techniques, documentation, standards. On completion of this course, students should be able to take a specification and produce a small to medium computer program that works satisfactorily for all inputs, that is reasonably efficient in implementation, that is well documented and that conforms to the relevant standards. The course includes a substantial practical element and the lessons learnt should enable students to program effectively in any language they may encounter. |
