An Alan Turing Day  at Bilgi University

This is the  second of the Turing days organised by the Department of Computer Science at Bilgi University  brings leading speakers to discuss the theory of computation and some of its leading implementations.

Our activity is named in memory of Alan Mathison Turing, the British mathematician (and, more famously, cryptologist) who was one of the founders of computational theory.

The seminars are by leading scientists, but they are intended to be introductory in nature and suitable for an undergraduate audience.

This year we have an interesting guest from San Francisco, Dr. Richard Wallace, chairman and co-founder of the A.L.I.C.E. Artificial Intelligence Foundation will give talks on A.L.I.C.E.  which is awarded as the “most human computer“, and its computational basis. Our second speaker is from Computer Science Department of Bilkent University, Dr. David Davenport is interested in  workings of the human mind  including AI/Cognitive Science and going to lead a session on very idea of computationalism.

Why we are holding this meeting?
