Çoklu-Robot Sistemlerinde Etkin İş Paylaşımı ve Hataya Dayanıklı Görev Yürütme

Ortaklaşa otonom olarak çalışan robotların görev başarımı önceden planlanmamış davranışlar ve olayları göz önüne almayı gerektirir. Robotlar kendilerinin kontrol altında tutamadıkları ve sürekli dinamik olan ortamlar ve uygulama alanlarında çalıştıklarından, çoklu-robot görev yürütme problemi iş paylaşımı probleminin de ötesinde çok daha zor boyutlara taşınır. Özel olarak, çoklu-robot sistemleri gürültülü sensör verileri, beklenmeyen davranışlar ve sonuçları, ortamsal kısıtlamalar (özellikle iletişimde) ve sık olabilecek donanım bozulma ve hataları gibi çeşitli durumlardan kaynaklanan zorluklar ile yüzleşmek zorundadır. Bunlara ek olarak problemin kendisi de ortam durumu veya başka bir sebeple değişim gösteriyor olabilir ki bu da problemi daha zor kılmaktadır. Tüm bu faktörler sistemin genel başarımını etkiler. Bu seminerde, belirtilen durumlara karşı hataya dayanıklı ve gerçek zamanlı bir çoklu-robot görev atama ve yürütme mimarisi tanıtılacaktır.

Extreme programming, which is a very disciplined and formal method in software development process is carried on by a team of members. How the team produces the software in a series of fully-integrated releases which pass all the tests that the customer has defined? How to achieve success focused on business value by Extreme Programmers? What is the difference between Extreme Programming and traditional software development methods? How the enterprises migrate to an Agile approach of a software design? Why is Extreme Programming assimilated to a jigsaw puzzle and how to put pieces in together for an efficient software product? And the essentials of the Extreme Programming will be discussed in this seminar.

The speaker of the seminar on April 10th is Cemil Türün from Yoğurt Teknoloji, the leader Turkish game programming company. Cemil Türün will introduce the basics and key points of game programming and a new multiplayer virtual world game will be presented for the first time.

Given a bipartite graph on two layers, L_0,L_1, and a fixed ordering of the nodes in L_0, the problem of finding an ordering of the nodes in L_1 that minimizes the number of crossings has received much attention in literature. The problem is NP-complete in general and several practically efficient heuristics and polynomial-time algorithms with a constant approximation ratio have been suggested. We generalize the problem and consider the version where the edges have nonnegative weights. Although this problem is more general and finds specific applications in automatic graph layout problems similar to those of the unweighted case, it has not received as much attention. We provide a new technique that efficiently approximates a solution to this more general problem within a constant approximation ratio of 3. In addition we provide appropriate generalizations of some common heuristics usually employed for the unweighted case and compare their performances experimentally.

Although software development process (software life cycle) is a well known and taught process, real life problems can be very challenging. Ozan Solmaz, having spent more than 8 years in IT industry, will share his point of view on this process. The problems faced and the methods to avoid these problems will be on the agenda. SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) is a new approach which changes our traditional way of developing software. This approach, with its pros and cons will also be discussed in the presentation.

Kemal Olgaç will discuss his experiences as a young MBA rising within the professional ranks. He will focus especially on the history and growth of Information Technology from its beginnings in Turkey and his company to the present day. He will discuss the "other side of the fence" from the technologist; namely a growing IT infrastructure and its impact upon the management and ordinary workers. He will discuss the relationship between business managers and IT professionals and how their ideas and attitudes must cooperate for success and how, if they do not, they can fail.

He will also discuss the impact of technology on profitability as margins are getting slimmer every day and customer retention issues.

Advances in DNA sequencing technology has given rise to the field of Bioinformatics, which resides at the intersection of life sciences and computational sciences. In this talk I will present two methods utilizing Average Information Profiles and Lempel-Ziv complexity of DNA sequences with applications in sequence assembly and evolutionary biology. I will also present current state-of-the-art in functional genomics and proteomics that makes use of microarrays measuring thousands of data points in a single experiment. I will specifically talk about transcriptional profiling and high-throughput proteomics, giving pointers to the issues in computational analysis of such massive data sets. I will elaborate on applications of high-throughput biological data analysis to basic biology (such as stem cells and developmental biology) and clinical (such as Cancer and Diabetes) research areas.

Information hiding techniques have recently become important in a number of application areas. Digital audio, video, and pictures are increasingly furnished with distinguishing but imperceptible marks, which may contain a hidden copyright notice or serial number or even help to prevent unauthorised copying directly. Rather than merely concealing the content of a message using encryption,people seek to conceal its sender, its receiver or its very existence. In this seminar,Steganography techniques will be explained and their difference between watermarking and cryptography will be discussed.

Stochastic Diffusion Search is a population based distributed search algorithm. It is most effective when there are a great number of criteria to be matched on the search space. In this seminar we will look at where SDS fits in within the family of search algorithms and how it can further be improved with the help of different social choice rules.

Bu seminerde, kuantum bilgisayarı hakkında genel bilgi verilip, klasik bilgisayar ve kuantum bilgisayar arasındaki temel farklar ortaya konalacaktır. Ayrıca, Kubit kavramı ve kuantum bilgisayarların hayatımıza getirmesi beklenen yeniliklerden bahsedilecektir.

Bu seminerde, yapay görme teknolojisi hakkında genel bilgi verildikten sonra akıllı üretim sistemleri, otomatik kalite kontrol sistemleri, biometri, digital arkeoloji, akıllı arabalar gibi farklı sektorlerdeki farklı uygulama alanlarından örnekler verilecektir. Vistek AŞ’de gerçekleştirilen bazı yapay görme projeleri hakkında da bilgi verilecektir.
