Evaluations: Twice each semester, you will write formal self evaluations where, with the guidance of a list of questions and a rubric, you will also determine YOUR "grade" for the period. In short, YOU will be giving YOU your "grade." How does this work? By using a combination of rubrics, self and peer evaluations and a series of critique sheets you will determine the quality of your presentations, class participation, projects and portfolios and then write about what you did. Using a written self evaluation, a rubric and a scoresheet, you will assess yourselves and your group members on the quality and degree of participation in your personal as well as your group work. A good self evaluation will be at least three (3) and probably five (5) or more pages of typed, double-spaced information about yourself. If you wrote less than three pages you have probably not written a good SE, if you wrote 15 pages, you may have given too much information. Points you can earn for work well done: Twice each semester you will do group reviews and self evaluations. Self Evaluations (3): Group Collaboration: *Writing about yourself (3) 2 @ 12.5% + 1 @ 25% = 50% Divide by 3 = 100% Please keep careful attendance records, also note how well you participate in class, what questions you ask, what discussions in which you participate and your group project and individual performances. |
